Have you ever questioned that you were different than everybody else? Have you ever felt like no one understands you? Have you ever wondered why? Have you ever tried to look inside your mind, and touch within your own heart, to figure it out? I did. As a Medical Laboratory scientist, it's my job to research, get the right lab results, and provide answers for doctors and nurses so they can take care of patients. As a healthcare executive, I made it my life's work to help the people who take care of other people. To help me, I use a thing called the "Lowery Care Construct," as my guide, because I care about people, places, and things- in that order. At the top are the people, in the middle are the places and spaces, and on the bottom, are the innovative things I can use to help people. Using this construct, along with all of the wonderful experience learned over the course of 32 years in the U. S. Army and in healthcare environments all over the world, I developed another thing called a formula. Let me tell you why:Over the years, I had many setbacks. I struggled with depression, self-doubt, and anxiety. I became frustrated and desperately determined to find a better way to live my life. I made an intentional and deliberate choice to lean forward, instead of falling back, but I need to find a way to do that. I decided to use what I learned to develop a formula. When I developed the I.N.S.P.I.R.E. formula, I had no idea that my discovery would save my own life. Now, I want to find that one person who was just like me, and save their life too. As you read these words, in the back of your mind you hear a still small voice telling you that this book is what you've been looking for. Now, let me tell you about the book. This book is a faith-based inspirational memoir about my life, my career in the Military, and most importantly, my spiritual walk with God. In the book, I employ quotes, verses, stories, anecdotes, and describe relationships that I have developed with Family, friends, and mentors to depict how God’s plans for me far exceeded my expectations. When I let go and let God take the wheel, I started to overcome challenge after challenge. When the challenges started to diminish, I discovered that the scenery on the side of the road of life makes for a beautiful landscape. If you walk with me, word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence, and chapter-by-chapter, I can show you. Together we will travel along this road on a transformative journey, laugh at my funny and embarrassing stories, cry through the sadness of my life, and smile as I honor those who have touched my life. As we walk along the path to your heart, these stories will touch you, change your mind, and transform your life. Are you strong enough to weather the storms of your past?
